The Project Administrator will manage projects within the scope of the team. The Project Administrator will assist with project management duties. They oversee and perform administrative functions concerned with a particular project. This may include calling contractors, making appointments, ordering supplies, doing site visits and preparing reports all in relation to Broadband Microwave rollout within the division. The specific project Administrator will be responsible for all technical aspects and assistance provided to project managers to ensure successful service delivery.

The Project Administrator closely works with Project Managers within the department, providing a function of support from an administration and financial perspective.

Role responsibilities and key focus areas:

  • Must be able to use MS Office: specifically, Outlook; Word; SharePoint & Excel.  Proficiency – Moderate to good.
  • Document management and version control: Proficiency – Moderate to good.
  • Scanning and printing – must be able to resolve issues without outside help at all times. 
  • Analysis of financial records and costing model.
  • Must be able to communicate with personnel regarding problems and be able to resolve them. If they are not able to resolve, then they must be able to determine when to escalate an issue.

Skills and experience:

  • Matric - Essential
  • Relevant Higher Qualification
  • Project Management Certification – Advantageous
  • 2 years + of proven Project Administration experience assisting with multidisciplinary projects within the Telecoms/IT space - Essential. Projects within the Telecoms/IT space - Essential
  • Ability to provide support on multiple projects simultaneously - Essential
  • Strong understanding of general Telecom principles; RF/wireless understanding - Desirable
  • Good communication, collaboration and team orientation
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritise work efficiently as well as multitask
  • Must have a high drive orientation and be goal-driven
  • Must prioritise customer needs at all times
